Preview The Seagulls picked up a point against Norwich City last weekend when both sides met at Carrow Road on Saturday, October 16. It was the third draw in a row for Brighton, leaving the Seagulls unbeaten in five Premier League games: WWDDD. Despite picking up only a point, Albion jumped two spots higher on the Premier League table, moving from 6th to 4th place while having 15 points after 4W, 3D, & 1L. On the key performance numbers, Brighton has an average of 1 goal per game, having bagged a haul of 8 goals in as many games. Albion have conceded 5 goals (0.62 g.c.p.g.) and thus have a goal difference of +3. This would be the first big test to Brighton’s dreams of remaining inside the top-five. Taking three points off Manchester City may be too much to ask for, but a point would be good enough for Graham Potter’s side. Potter could stick with the 3—5—2 formation with Neal Maupay and Leandro Trossard in attack, as so often seen. The pair have a total of 5 goals, with the former having four to his name. Steve Alzate and Danny Welbeck are ruled out, while Adam Webster remains in doubt for this fixture.

Preview The Premier League champions will return from their UEFA Champions League commitments, in which they defeated Club Brugge 5-1 on Tuesday, UCL Matchday 3. Back on the home front, the blue side of Manchester remained in the same spot, 3rd place, following the 2-0 win over Burnley on home soil. The five-time Premier League champions have 17 points from 5W, 2D, & 1L. Unbeaten in five league games: WDWDW, Pep will aim for maximum points while counting on his local rivals, Manchester United, to give him a hand against second-placed Liverpool on Sunday. A perfect scenario which would leave City in 2nd place, at the very least. Manchester City’s performance in the final third has brought the club 16 goals (2 goals per 90) after eight Premier League games. Along with Chelsea, City remains one of the least conceding sides in the Premier League with 3 goals (0.38 goals-per-match). Pep Guardiola could give a few players a rest following their participation in the UEFA Champions League earlier in the week, but a 4—3—3 formation with Foden at the center of attack against Brighton is expected. Ferran Torres is ruled out for this fixture after picking up an injury while on international duty with Spain.
