Preview FC Barcelona La Liga, Aug 29, 2021

Preview After an impressive win on Match Day 1, Barcelona returns to La Liga action behind a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Athletic Club. Despite a few clear-cut chances in the first forty-five, both teams walked off the pitch at the interval without any side having the lead. Before the break, Martin Braithwaite fired well above the crossbar minutes before Bilbao hit the crossbar at the other end. On another occasion, Ronald Araújo made a goal-line clearance to keep Barcelona in the game. Five minutes after the break, Bilbao grabbed the lead through Iñigo Martínez (50'). But a goal from Memphis Depay (75') salvaged a point for Barcelona. Moments later, Barcelona almost grabbed the lead but Depay fired inches wide off the mark. The draw leaves F.C. Barcelona in 4th place with 4 points after two games: 1W, 1D & 0L. Ronald Koeman will like to see his side return to winning ways when they welcome Getafe to Camp Nou on Match Day 3. His side shares Group E with F.C. Bayern Munich, SL Benfica and FC Dynamo Kyiv ahead of the upcoming UEFA Champions League slated for mid-September. A 4—3—3 formation is expected from Ronald Koeman with the trio consisting of Martin Braithwaite, Memphis Depay and Antoine Griezmann in attack. Barcelona will continue to be without Sergio Aguero (calf injury), Ansu Fati and Ousmane Dembélé (hamstring injury). Marc-André ter Stegen also faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after knee surgery. After picking up a red in the game against Bilbao, Eric García will not take part in this fixture.

Preview Getafe La Liga, Aug 29, 2021

Preview Getafe Club de Futbol remain at the bottom of the league table following the 1-0 defeat to Sevilla on Match Day 2. A goal by Erik Lamela (90'+3) in stoppage time saw Getafe pick up the home defeat. It leaves them in 18th place with no points after two games: 0W, 0D & 2L. Coach Michel would be looking to bounce back from the narrow loss when the Deep Blue Ones make their third appearance of the season. Michel is expected to apply the defensive 5—3—2 formation in an attempt to keep the Barcelona forwards at bay, - most notably, the pacy Memphis Depay. The duo consisting of Unal and Ramirez could be leading the attack once again. A point against Barcelona is considered a good result for Michel. Luckily, he will have the luxury of making his selection from a fully fit squad.
