Preview The Monegasques will be looking forward to the first win of their Ligue 1 campaign when they travel to Stade du Moustoir to face Lorient on Friday. The game against F.C. Nantes saw AS Monaco pick up only a point after failing to keep hold of a one-goal lead. Monaco put themselves in front minutes into the game with Gelson Martins (14’) scoring the first goal of the new season after getting on the end of a fantastic assist across the face of goal from Brazilian midfielder, Caio. But a strong header from Jean-Charles Castelletto (42’), three minutes from the stroke of half-time saw F.C. Nantes level the score-line. A disappointed Niko Kovac watched on from the sidelines as his team failed to restore their one-goal lead until the game came to an end. Failing to kick off their Ligue 1 campaign with a win, they returned four days later on Tuesday the 10th of August to inflict a 3-1 defeat on Sparta Prague in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Heading into Friday's game, Monaco would be hoping to leave the Stade du Moustoir with maximum points. A 4—2—3—1 formation with Myron Boadu leading the attack is expected from Niko Kovac once again on Match Day 2. Fabregas was an unused substitute against Nantes while Wissam Ben Yedder could be making another off-the-bench appearance in Monaco's second appearance of the season.
