Preview Watford return to the English Premier League after a season-long absence. They finished in 2nd place at the end of the EFL Championship season. The Yellow Army will be hosting Aston Villa on Saturday afternoon in the first game of the season which happens to be on home soil. Ahead of the new season, Watford picked up a goalless draw against West Brom in a pre-season club-friendly on the 24th of July. They picked up another draw against Stevenage FC. Earlier in the month of August, they lost to Crystal Palace, 3-1 in another pre-season club-friendly. The Hornets made several additions to the squad which saw the likes of Peter Etebo, Ashley Fletcher, and Joshua King joining the Yellow Army. Danny Rose also made a summer switch from Spurs on a free transfer. The Hornets saw departures in the form of Craig Dawson, Ben Wilmot and several others. Head coach, Xisco Munoz would be looking to avoid a relegation scrap and keep his side in the Premier League at the end of the season. A 4-3-3 formation is expected from the 40-year-old Spaniard when they take on Aston Villa this weekend.
