Preview Watford Premier League, Dec 1, 2021

Preview Claudio Ranieri’s return to Leicester City at the weekend ended in a 4-2 defeat to the Foxes. The Tricky Fox, Jamie Vardy (34’ & 42'), bagged a brace inside the first forty-five minutes to see Watford go behind by two goals after Joshua King (30' P.) found the leveler to Maddison’s 16th-minute opener. Watford's Troost-Ekong had ducked out of a defensive header, leaving the Leicester City man with the opportunity for an easy finish. One minute after the hour mark, Emmanuel Bonaventure (61') reduced Watford’s deficit to one after a steal, racing away, unchallenged, towards goal on the snow-covered pitch. But the Foxes would restore the two-goal lead seven minutes later, when Jamie Vardy teed up Ademola Lookman (68') for the finish, to mark the end of the haul in the six-goal thriller at the King Power Stadium. The reception was fantastic, Claudio Ranieri said in his post-match press conference. I want to say thank you to all the fans. We fought 'til the end. We created more chances than Leicester. I am positive because it's important the team try to create chances. He added. We conceded four goals, so we can do much better, but they won the match because they were more aggressive and more determined than us. It was Christmas Day conditions. It wasn't the pitch, we lost because we made mistakes and Leicester scored the chances they had. Ranieri concluded, emphasizing the weather rather than the pitch. Watford has picked up six points from a possible 15: WLLWL, and remains in 16th place with 13 points after 4W, 1D, and 8L. A 4—1—4—1 formation with Bonaventure was seen against Leicester City and is expected once again on Wednesday.

Preview Chelsea Premier League, Dec 1, 2021

Preview Chelsea saw their lead at the top of the table cut down to just a point after the 1-1 draw against Manchester United. Jorginho hoped the ground would open up and swallow him after the howler which left Jadon Sancho (50') racing away for the opener with two blue shirts at his heels. Luckily, Jorginho (69' P.) was given the opportunity to amend the scoreline, having converted from the spot. Wan-Bissaka's foot had caught Thiago Silva in a careless attempt to clear the ball from the box. The draw left Chelsea unbeaten in five games, WWDWD, and with 30 points from 9W, 3D, and 1L. Thomas Tuchel faced United with a 3—4—2—1 formation, leaving Timo Werner in attack. Werner was replaced by Lukaku in the 82nd minute. The Belgian is expected to push Werner to the bench for a place in the starting line-up on Wednesday.
