Preview Fiorentina stretched the purple patch to three victories in a row after Saturday's 2-1 win over Genoa at the Luigi Ferraris. Biraghi's fantastic free-kick effort was thwarted by the Genoa goalkeeper, Salvatore Sirigu before both sides walked off the pitch without a goal at the break. But a remarkable effort by Riccardo Saponara (60') broke the deadlock at the hour mark. Minutes later, Sirigu produced another stunning save to deny Duncan what would have been Fiorentina's second goal. Moments later, Saponara provided the assist for Bonaventura (89') to extend the lead for the Purples. However, Fiorentina failed to keep the clean sheet after giving away a penalty with what should have been the final kick of the game. Domenico Criscito (90'+ET P.) stepped forward and converted after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. The win leaves Fiorentina in 6th place and with 9 points after four games, 3W, 0D, & 1L. Having slipped into the purple seat earlier in June, Vincenzo Italiano appears to have breathed new life into La Viola following last season's struggles. The 43-year-old has a managerial record which points to an 80% win rate. Tuesday's game would pose the biggest test so far for Fiorentina this season, having faced the likes of Roma, Atalanta, and Torino over the course of the season. The trio consisting of Callejón, Gonzalez, and Dusan Vlahovic could shoulder the goalscoring responsibilities once again, with Vlahovic playing through the middle. Vincenzo Italiano will have the luxury of a fully fit squad ahead of this fixture.

Preview Meanwhile, the match between Inter Milan and Bologna ended in a mismatch, with the Nerazzurri scoring six times against the Rossoblù at the San Siro on Matchday 4. Goals from Lautaro Martínez (6'), Milan Skriniar (30'), and Nicolò Barella (34') separated both sides at the break, while a goal from Matías Vecino (54'), coupled with a brace from Edin Dzeko (62', 68') in the second half, finished off Bologna. However, Inter failed to keep a clean sheet, leaving Arthur Theatre (86') with a consolation goal for Bologna. The massive win sent Inter Milan to the top of the table with a few games pending while having 10 points. Inzaghi appears to have settled for the 3—5—2 formation, having adopted the same shape for the last few games. Following the unavailability of Joaquin Correa, Edin Dzeko is expected to return to the starting line-up alongside Lautaro Martínez after being left on the bench against Bologna. Correa limped off in the game against I Rossoblù and will not be available for this fixture. Meanwhile, Stefano Sensi remains sidelined with a medial collateral ligament injury.
