Preview Newly-promoted side, Norwich City aim to keep their place in the Premier League after re-introducing themselves to English top-flight football following a season-long absence. The Canaries picked up the EFL Championship title win last season in England’s 2nd tier division. They recently boosted their attacking options with the acquisition of American forward, Josh Sargent. The 21-year-old put pen to paper for the summer switch from Werder Bremen to reunite with former teammate, Milot Rashica. We’re really happy to have Josh with us, coach Daniel Farke said in a press interview. He is a very good option for us, he is someone who can also play on the wing, he added. Victory over the Reds would be a tall order for Farke but the Canaries are in contention for a point. The 44-year-old German coach saw his contract extended until the summer of 2025 after picking up the EFL Championship title for the club a second time during his reign. A 4—2—3—1 formation with Teemu Pukki leading the front-line is expected from Daniel Farke against Liverpool this weekend. Playing on home soil on the opening Saturday of the Premier League season, the club re-iterated the importance of adhering to the new supporter code of conduct as they prepare to welcome capacity crowd to Carrow Road.

Preview After a string of unimpressive results which saw Liverpool pick up six defeats in a row on home soil, the Reds put in a strong finish in the closing stages to finish third last season. They were handed a boost with the long-awaited return of Virgil van Dijk in a pre-season club-friendly match against Hertha Berlin after nine months on the sidelines. An anterior cruciate ligament injury in the right knee picked up in the Merseyside derby against the Toffees saw the 30-year-old centre-back unavailable for a major portion of the season alongside Joel Matip and Joe Gomez. The defensive trio will be available again for Jurgen Klopp this season. However, the Reds strengthened the defensive department further with the recent acquisition of Ibrahima Konate who made the switch from RB Leipzig for €40M. Liverpool remain in the search for a suitable replacement to fill the void created by Georginio Wijnaldum’s departure to PSG. Klopp would relish the opportunity to sound an early warning that his side are in contention to reclaim the Premier League title which they last won in the 2019/2020 season. An attacking 4—3—3 formation with the trio: Firmino, Mane and Salah is expected against Norwich City.
