2020/21 was a year in which plenty of big clubs underperformed, from Liverpool and Barcelona to Juventus, PSG, and Real Madrid. But East London saw a feel-good story brewing, as West Ham became one of the most entertaining and effective sides in the Premier League, finishing 6th, above Arsenal and Tottenham.
Former Manchester United manager David Moyes was the man behind the renaissance, despite coming into the position after a string of poor performances with Real Sociedad, Sunderland, and West Ham themselves. And since he’s returned to the London Stadium, he’s made stars of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal, while Michail Antonio now looks like one of the best strikers in the league.
