West Ham United U23s fell to defeat at the hands of Manchester United U23s in Premier League 2 action.
D'Mani Mellor had given the Red Devils a deserved advantage on 13 minutes but the home team's opener sparked West Ham into life, who levelled just 10 minutes later courtesy of a superb curling effort from distance by Dan Chesters.
The Irons were in control during the remainder of the first half and were unfortunate not to take a lead before half-time, something that Manchester United made the side regret on 61 minutes when Mellor tucked in his second.
As Mark Robson's Hammers pressed for a leveller, the team were caught out late on as Connor Stanley broke to net Manchester United's third on 88 minutes.
