Preview Bayer Leverkusen picked up three points after the 3-1 win over RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena on Bundesliga Matchday 13. Diaby thought he had put Leverkusen in front, but the referee, with the assistance of the VAR, saw the illegitimate goal rightly ruled out for offside. A moment later, Florian Wirtz (21') became the first player under the age of 19 to score more than 10 Bundesliga goals after giving Leverkusen the lead mid-way through the first period. Minutes later, Diaby (34') permanently penned his name on the score sheet, having been denied earlier, leaving Leverkusen with a two-goal lead at the break. October's Player of the Month, Christopher Nkunku, assisted Andre Silva (62') to see the Red Bulls reduce the goal deficit to one. However, two minutes later, Frimpong (64') restored Leverkusen’s two-goal lead. Leipzig’s Dominik Szoboszlai had the opportunity to score from the penalty spot but crashed his effort into the woodwork at the empty stadium. With back-to-back victories: DLDWW, the club stepped up from 4th to 3rd place on the Bundesliga table, having picked up 24 points after 7W, 3D, & 3L. After a few setbacks along the way, Gerardo Seoane’s side are looking more like contenders for a top-three finish. A win in this technically easier fixture would see Leverkusen close in on second-placed Dortmund (30 points). The Black & Yellows have a much more difficult fixture against Bayern Munich later in the day. A 4—2—3—1 formation, with Patrik Schick in attack, is expected for this game against Greuther Fürth. Mitchel Bakker remains doubtful, along with Karim Bellarabi.

Preview Greuther Fürth failed to pick up a point despite a three-goal haul in the nine-goal fest that ended, 6-3, in defeat to Hoffenheim at the Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer. Fürth remains at the bottom of the table with only a point and without a victory this season. They also remain the only side without a win in the Bundesliga with 0W, 1D, & 12L, and share the unimpressive numerical milestone with the Premier League side, Newcastle United, and the LaLiga side, Levante, in the Big-Five European leagues. With five consecutive defeats, LLLLL, Stefan Leitl remains desperately in search of a win. However, the 44-year-old may have to look elsewhere, as a win over Leverkusen, who have an average of 2.15 goals per game, is stacked against the odds in comparison with a paltry 0.85 g.p.g of his own. Leitl and the Cloverleaves could appear with the 4—3—3 formation, leaving the Nigerian, Dickson Abiama, at the center of the attacking trio against Bayer Leverkusen.
