Preview Cádiz La Liga, Sep 12, 2021

Preview The home side are yet to find their first victory of the new season following the 3-2 defeat to Osasuna in the five-goal thriller at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla on Matchday 3. It was a game plagued by penalties. Cadiz had established the lead through Alex Fernandez (16') but Osasuna's Kike (60' P.) found the leveler from the penalty spot on the hour-mark after the VAR spotted a hand-ball inside the box. Six minutes later, Fernandez (66' P.) returned for the brace, this time around from the penalty spot after another handball was spotted by the VAR inside the box. A calm Fernandez sent Osasuna's goalkeeper diving the wrong way for Cadiz's second goal. But Roberto Torres (90+1' P.) equalized in the same fashion after yet another handball, this time not requiring the help of the VAR. It appeared both sides would settle for the point but a goal from David Garcia (90+5') saw Osasuna snatch the win five minutes into stoppage time. The defeat leaves Cadiz in 12th place with 2 points and a goal difference of -1 after 0W, 2D & 1L. For this Sunday's match against Real Sociedad, manager lvaro Cervera may opt for a 4—5—1 formation. On availability, Jon Ander Garrido remains ruled out with a knee injury. The 31-year-old is expected to make his return to the squad in mid-December.

Preview Real Sociedad La Liga, Sep 12, 2021

Preview Meanwhile, Real Sociedad will be making a return to La Liga action after the 1-0 win over Levante on Matchday 3 at the Reale Arena. A deft back heel in the shape of an assist from David Silva left Ander Barrenetxea (42') with the opportunity for the shot which became the only goal of the game. Sociedad have 6 points following back-to-back victories: LWW. The club remains in 7th place after 2W, 0D, & 1L. Manager Imanol Alguacil will settle for nothing less than a victory in what appears to be an easy fixture on paper. The 50-year-old is expected to adopt the 4—1—4—1 formation with Alexander Isak leading the attack. The Swede has failed to find the back of the net since the start of the season but has produced two assists for the club. Carlos Fernández is ruled out with a cruciate ligament rupture and will not take part in this fixture against Cadiz. Looking ahead, Real Sociedad will visit the Philips Stadion to take on PSV in their opening Europa League fixture on Thursday.
