On this week’s EFD 10 we’re looking at 10 players who could be forced out of their current clubs this summer.
In the wake of the coronavirus crisis, many teams need to raise cash, while others face periods of uncertainty with key players running down their contracts. Inter Milan and Barcelona are in the first camp, expecting to lose Achraf Hakimi and Lionel Messi respectively to cash-rich outfits like Man City and Chelsea, while Lyon could see Houssem Aouar head to Juventus. On the other hand, Arsenal will consider selling Hector Bellerin as Mikel Arteta continues to revamp the squad, and Southampton might be tempted to offload Danny Ings to Tottenham before his deal runs out. Then there’s Sheffield United’s Sander Berge and Hertha Berlin’s Krzysztof Piatek, whose teams are embroiled in relegation battles. The drop will mean their wages are too steep to pay - so just where could they go next season?
