Atlanta United's Tyler Wolff hit a milestone mark for the club on Wednesday night. The forward scored Atlanta's 350th goal in MLS regular season play in its match against New York City FC at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
In the 11th minute of the match, Wolff played the ball to Caleb Wiley, who flicked it onto Jay Fortune running into the box. Although Fortune was tripped by a NYCFC defender, the ball fell right to Wolff, and he shot from an acute angle into the back of the net.
Wolff was signed as a Homegrown Player on July 2, 2020, and he has become a strong asset in Atlanta's attack this season. He has now scored in four of his seven appearances and is the third-leading scorer on the team behind Giorgos Giakoumakis (10) and Thiago Almada (7). Wednesday's match was Wolff's first start for the club during the 2023 MLS season.
Atlanta United joined Major League Soccer in 2017 and won the 2018 MLS Cup in just its second season, the earliest an expansion team has won the title since 1998. The club has set multiple league records including season tickets sales (36,000-plus), single-season average (53,002) and total home attendance (901,033). Owned by Arthur M. Blank, Atlanta United plays its home matches at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. For more information about Atlanta United, including how to purchase season tickets, visit: www.atlutd.com.
