York City Football Club would like to wish Alf Patrick a very Happy 100th Birthday today.
Alf played for City between 1946 and 1952, scoring 117 goals in 241 league and cup appearances – which puts him fourth on the all-time goalscoring list for the club.
The York-born striker also holds the record for most goals scored in a single game for York City – with five against Rotherham United in November 1948.
Sporting Director Dave Penney visited Alf at his home yesterday on behalf of the club to present a ‘Patrick 100’ printed shirt ahead of his planned birthday party and Steve Watson sent a video message to the York City legend to be played on his big day.
We wish Alf many happy returns!
