Swansea City will return to the Liberty Stadium with a one-goal lead and the away-goals advantage after beating Barnsley 1-0 in the first leg of their EFL Championship promotion playoff semifinal. Andre Ayew toes the offside line and slips in behind the Barnsley defense before firing home a brilliant curling effort to give the Swans the lead before halftime. Thanks in part to USMNT striker Daryl Dike, on loan from MLS side Orlando City, Barnsley mounts a comeback effort in the second half, but Freddie Woodman preserves Swansea's lead with some excellent goalkeeping. The winner of the Barnsley-Swansea City tie will face the winner of Bournemouth-Brentford at Wembley Stadium, with promotion to the Premier League on the line.
