The England manager, and Palace academy graduate, cut the ribbon to officially open the club's £20 million new Academy site, presented by chairman Steve Parish.
Also in attendance was Patrick Vieira with Palace's entire current first team, and a whole host of legends and managers from over the years, including: Wilfried Zaha, Julian Speroni, Roy Hodgson, Ian Holloway, Dougie Freedman, Mile Jedinak, Alan Pardew, Mark Bright, Damien Delaney, Steve Kember, Alan Smith, Paddy McCarthy, Shaun Derry, Clinton Morrison, Ben Watson, Kenny Sansom, Jim Cannon, John Salako, and many more.
