Elijah Adebayo's 90th minute goal dealt a cruel late blow to Stoke City in a hard-fought contest at Kenilworth Road.
Narcís Pèlach's side had led in Bedfordshire through Tom Cannon's strike, however, Carlton Morris levelled prior to the interval for the Hatters.
City created openings throughout the second 45 and controlled large spells as the game progressed to its dying stages, when Tom Krauß drove an effort towards Viktor Johansson's goal which was deflected by Adebayo beyond the Sweden international.
