Wigan Athletic Community Trust joined other Northwest teams at the Premier League Kicks Cup regional qualifier.
Hosted by Liverpool Foundation, Latics were represented by two U16 teams, including a mixed and a girls' team, made up of participants on the Premier League Kicks programme.
The Premier League Kicks programme aims to create stronger and safer communities by providing free evening football sessions for young people, with the PL Kicks Cup being a celebration of the impact of the programme across the country.
Alongside other Northwest teams, Latics took part in two round-robin tournaments, as well as a Knife Safety and First Aid workshop delivered by junior doctors.
While Latics narrowly missed out on qualifying for the national finals, the tournament was still an excellent opportunity for the players to experience travelling to a new part of the region, making new friends and learning potentially life-saving skills.
