Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s and Commhoist’s Environmental Awareness Project has begun in ten primary schools across Wigan and Leigh.
The project will see environmental school councils brainstorm ideas to improve their school’s environmental sustainability.
We recently visited Orrell Holgate Academy to see how their group were getting on in the early stages of the project. Some of their ideas included creating a litter-picking club, adding a School compost bin as well as the potential of a meat-free meal day at the School.
