Wigan Athletic Community Trust has been running a PE support programme at Hope School and College to assist with the delivery of PE lessons and support the health and wellbeing of SEND students at the school.
Led by the Community Trust's Disability Football and Sports Officer, Robyn Jepson, the sessions aim to enhance the delivery of PE lessons and develop students' key physical characteristics, including their health, fitness and overall coordination.
Community Trust staff deliver sessions that involve a variety of different activities, including team games, sports and dance sessions, which also work to improve students' teamwork and communication skills through physical activity.
