In support of Parkinson's Awareness Week, we're celebrating the impact of Wigan Athletic Community Trust's Extra Time programme in supporting people aged over 55.
Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, Extra Time aims to support people aged 55+ to improve their health, reduce social isolation and improve their health and wellbeing. At the sessions, members can enjoy a host of activities to help them stay active as well as enjoy a brew and a chat with other members and Community Trust staff.
Two of those members are Libby and Paul. Paul lives with Parkinson's, and since coming to the sessions, the pair of them have seen an improvement in their mental health and their wellbeing.
