Wigan Athletic Community Trust recently held a HeadStart Christmas Celebration to spread some festive cheer to young people engaged with the HeadStart programme across Greater Manchester.
Alongside the Community Trust's HeadStart students, young people from Rochdale AFC Community Trust and Bolton Wanderers in the Community also attended the event, showcasing the strong partnerships between the three organisations.
HeadStart is EFL in the Community's flagship youth mental health programme, increasing confidence and reducing anxiety amongst young people as they transition from Primary to Secondary School.
The Christmas Celebration was held at The Brick Community Stadium, where each organisation delivered a workshop themed around different aspects of mental health, including the power of positivity, coping strategies to deal with anxiety and more!
The young people then headed to Stadium Way, where they took part in some fun Christmas activities. They were also joined by Latics first-team players Scott Smith and Baba Adeeko, who got stuck in the activities and handed out prizes and certificates.
