Wigan Athletic Community Trust's Premier League Inspires students recently took part in a ‘Safer Communities' event at The Brick Community Stadium.
Students from four of Wigan Athletic Community Trust's partner schools attended the event, including Lowton High School, St John Fisher Catholic High School, Up Holland High School and Outwood Academy Hindley.
The students took part in a Q&A with 1Message speakers Matthew Norford and Wesley Blades, who spoke about their experiences of gang culture in Manchester and how it affected their lives.
In the afternoon, Byron Highton from the JJ Effect delivered a knife-crime deterrent workshop based on his own experiences of knife crime and the tragic loss of his brother.
