See all the highlights from our 3rd November league match at home to Actonians Thirds. There were some changes for this game with our full backs pushing up to the wing, and our wingers dropping back, so we were hoping for a short adjustment period and to keep our fantastic league form going. The first chance of the game fell to the visitors but their shot from 10 yards was well saved. That chance woke us up and we were unlucky to not take the lead soon after as a good save from their keeper left a tantalising rebound opportunity that was put just over the bar. It didn't take long for us to take the lead, and it was in spectacular fashion as McLeod-Graham picked the ball up on the edge of the box and audaciously lobbed the keeper who was rooted to the spot. It should have been two when McDougall fizzed a ball across the six-yard line but no one could get on the end of it to tap into an empty net. Lambert did then double our lead from a very similar scenario as she was picked out by a ball across the face of goal and turned it in. We were unlucky to have two more goals disallowed before the break both due to very narrow offside calls but went in at the half deserving of our two-goal lead. The second half continued in much the same vein as the first when Kabadaki struck from range to make it 3-0, beating the keeper at the near post. Kabadaki was denied an extraordinary second goal when a thunderous strike from 25 yards out clearly came off the crossbar and went over the line, but the referee did not see it and play continued. The visitors struggled to make many clear chances the rest of the game as we continued to press for more. With the number of fantastic chances we created for the rest of the half it was a miracle the scoreline ended 3-0 as we followed up the third goal with shots hitting the woodwork and being cleared off the line but credit must go to the Actonians keeper and defenders. This dominating performance means our perfect league form continues and special congratulations to our player of the match Saffiah Robinson!
Next up is another league tie away at South London Reserves on the 10th November!
