Dimitri Payet was hit in the back of the neck by a bottle full of water while preparing to take a corner. After this happened, Payet collapsed on the ground and the game was stopped. The decision to definitively suspend the match was only taken after an awkward 2 hours. Jean-Michel Aulas, the president of Olympique Lyonnais, wanted the game to resume. The speaker in the stadium even announced that the match was going to resume. A historic fiasco.
