Pool D at Rugby World Cup 2023 saw England face off against Japan in Nice. Both sides were looking to build upon their opening match victories to solidify their hopes of progressing out of the Pool stage.
It was a close first half with England making multiple errors and Japan keeping the pace through the boot of Rikiya Matsuda. Things changed in the second half, as England established their dominance through a strange passage of play and secured their victory.
