All eyes were on Football South Coast side Figtree Football Club last Friday evening when one of Australian Grassroots Football's most iconic players Peter Webster decided to call it a day at the age of 80.
Yes 80.
Born and bred in Preston, England, Peter, a former steelworker played for many teams in Welsh leagues in his 20s and 30s, before moving to Australia with his wife Moira and three children in 1981 where he continued to play the world game.
As well as playing his last match, Peter was also retiring as the club's groundsman.
Such is his legendary status down the South Coast in the local game, there's even a competition named after him - the Peter Webster Cup.
Take a look at a special Football NSW production on Peter's farewell match.
You are an absolute legend Peter, from all of us at Football NSW congrats on an amazing milestone, something tells us we will certainly continue to see you down at the football pitch very soon.
