"The Michel Zecler Affair" added further fuel to the fire in the debate surrounding police violence in France. Footballers have recently taken a position with regards to this very sensitive topic. Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappé and even Benjamin Mendy condemned police violence; But this stance caused controversy on social media.
