City climbed to the top of the Premier League with a 5-1 win over Luton Town.
The defending champions were in complete control from start to finish against the struggling Hatters.
An fortuitous early own goal inside two minutes gave the Blues the perfect start, but the visitors clung on until the break trailing by just the one goal.
And Rob Edwards' side continued to frustrate until just past the hour when Mateo Kovacic scored his first Premier League goal with a thumping shot to double the lead.
