Still in search of their first points of the campaign, Latics hosted a Colchester United side that were also winless this season. Quick fire goals in the first-half for The U’s with a Freddie Sears penalty and low drilled effort from Noah Chilvers saw Keith Curle’s side trail after 12 minutes. Despite a Dylan Bahamboula goal in the 72nd minute, set-up by academy product Harry Vaughan with an impressive attack display to beat several defenders before picking out the Congolese forward. Moyo’s second goal of the campaign was unable to spur Latics on to level the game resulting in another frustrating fixture.
