In September 2001, and England team under the new management of Sven-Göran Eriksson travelled to Munich and beat Germany 5-1 in their own backyard, in what is often cited as being one of England's greatest ever results.
Over the next 15 years, Germany reached at least the semi-finals of seven out of a possible eight major tournaments, and they won the FIFA World Cup in 2014 - meanwhile England failed to get beyond the quarter finals at either the World Cup or the Euros.
So in this documentary, HITC Sevens takes a look at both Germany and England in the 21st century, the reason for the two potential Euro 2020 rivals' contrasting fortunes, and how England accidentally caused an era of greatness within German football.
