Fourth video in our series exploring the connections and emotions people have with Bootham Crescent, the home of York City Football Club.
The Club is moving to a new, state-of-the-art football and rugby league stadium and 2019/20 is the final season of football to be played at the ground which is due to be redeveloped for housing.
The purpose of the Historic England research is to better understand ‘place-making’: how can we use heritage to make new, distinctive and meaningful places that have an identity and respect previous uses and associations? Interviews will be held with a large number of people to understand how they feel about the place, and from there we will see how the proposed new development can be shaped to represent those associations.
