01:05 - It’s great to have new faces in the squad, feel like I’m getting older and older. Good to see Kyle, Marc and Tyrick playing well.
01:55 - Whenever there’s a major tournament the camps are important. When you’re here every training session and game you play matters.
02:50 - My main focus is finishing this season. My focus is getting top four with Tottenham. But it’s a big year.
03:50 - It depends what happens, depends whether I score no goals, win the golden boot and the World Cup! The last two tournaments have been a major experience.
05:10 - We had that meeting last night. It’s important to talk to the manager and staff. Gareth led the meeting and we spoke about what to expect. It’s important for us as players to talk about, we’ve never shied away with our opinions.
06:30 - It’s important to understand us as players didn’t choose to go to Qatar. We need to understand as much as possible their issues. We try and use our platform to help in any way we can. Having the World Cup in Qatar will help build
07:45 - It’s not something we’ve had deep discussions about. Maybe talking to other national team captains to help stay unified.
08:30 - It was a meeting that lasted 30 minutes or so. We’ll send over information around the squad to educate each other. It’s an important issue and plenty of progress to be made.
09:20 - Every game you play is important. It’s important to try different tactics and using this games to see how we should play in the World Cup.
10:10 - I want to play as many games for England as possible. That record is there and I’m close. I’m feeling fit and in a good place. I’ll be ready to be called upon.
10:50 - We’ve created a culture where it’s easy for a player to fit into the squad. My role as captain is to understand them as people and human’s.
11:55 - A but of both. We’ve made massive strides with the team and there’s definitely an expectation on us now.
12:50 - there’s some great teams from Europe and South America. As we’ve learnt there’s no easy game, every tournament game is a big one.
13:30 - It was massive to beat Germany. It was fantastic for the fans, who have suffered a lot of heartache in previous years, but we back ourselves against anyone.
14:20 - I think so. The World Cup semi finals was difficult to take, but we’re always learning and improving.
15:30 - It’s really important, as a nation we want our fans to enjoy the games and feel safe doing so. Discussions have been had, football is a sport for everyone. The light will be shone on Qatar.
16:30 - It’ll be different and strange. The last eight to ten years of my career have been slogging it out in the premier league so instead I’ll be getting a nice tan!
17:20 - Antonio is a fantastic coach. He brings his ideas and I’ve definitely learnt a lot under him. I feel in a better place physically.
