RB Leipzig applies some pressure to Bayern Munich at the start of Matchday 21 in the Bundesliga, beating Augsburg 2-1 in the opening match of the round. Dani Olmo converts a penalty kick after having his initial effort saved, only for VAR to conclude Augsburg keeper Rafal Gikiewicz stepped off his line. Christopher Nkunku scores another five minutes later to send Leipzig into the break up 2-0. Augsburg doesn't produce a shot on goal until the 77th minute, when Daniel Caligiuri scores from the penalty spot. While Leipzig was closing the gap with Bayern to four points on the pitch, news was breaking off it that Dayot Upamecano, who watched the match from the Leipzig bench, is closing in on a move to Bayern Munich this summer.
