Highlights as The Robins came away empty-handed from the City Ground after a goal in each half earned Nottingham Forest all three points.
Brennan Johnson got on the scoresheet in the 37th minute when his deflected shot found the bottom corner and, 10 minutes into the second half, James Garner made it two from the edge of the box.
City struggled to carve out opportunities while captain Dan Bentley was at his best with four outstanding saves.
