Stoke City earned a hard-fought point against Ipswich Town to extend their unbeaten run to six Championship matches on New Year's Day.
The Potters looked the more likely to edge in front in an entertaining contest before midfielder Jordan Thompson received a second yellow card 20 minutes from time, at which point City were forced to dig deep in the closing stages of their fourth match in ten days.
Steven Schumacher's side were applauded off by the bet365 Stadium crowd at the conclusion of their opening fixture of 2024, with clear appreciation for the way in which the Potters exerted all of their energy to protect their clean sheet.
