Stoke City slipped to a narrow 1-0 defeat at home to play-off hopefuls Coventry City on Saturday.
Ellis Simms' strike minutes after the half-time interval was enough for the Sky Blues to claim maximum points.
Steven Schumacher's side will look to bounce back to winning ways when they travel to the Welsh capital in seven days' time to face Cardiff City.
