Today’s XI takes a look at a squad of players not going to the World Cup. Some weren’t selected, like David De Gea and Owen Wijndal, whilst Ngolo Kante misses out due to injury – as might Ronald Araujo. Then there were the ones that didn’t qualify – David Alaba could have missed his last chance at a World Cup with Austria, and Riyad Mahrez, Victor Osimhen and Mo Salah were all victim’s of Africa’s ruthless qualification. Premier League stars Erling Haaland and Luis Diaz also miss out. Then we could have chosen basically any Italian player – but Marco Veratti makes it here. Enjoy!
