The UEFA Champions League is the most prestigious cup competition in European football, with winners including the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich.

Since replacing the European Cup at the start of the 1990s, the Champions League has always had a group stage where each group contains four teams, but from 2024-25, that is all going to change, along with a raft of other reforms.

So in this video, HITC Sevens takes a look at those reforms, what they might mean for the Champions League, the context in which they are being implemented, and why watered down European Super League style reforms are likely to continue.
