The 2nd-4th June saw the return of the Clarets' Academy International Cup with official Presenting Partner ai.io.
Taking place at Burnley FC's training ground, sixteen of the world's best academy teams competed in the 2023 competition. Teams this year include Burnley, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Malmo FF (Sweden), CD National Madeira and Sporting Lisbon (both Portugal).
ai.io, as official Presenting Partner, continue to support the growth of the Club's academy system with their technology products, aiScout and aiLabs.
The artificial intelligence-based company had a large presence over the weekend. The teams participating in the tournament had the opportunity to experience their state of the art AI labs. Players in the mobile performance lab completed a series off physical and cognitive tests, similar to what first team players at top clubs do.
Using the aiScout mobile app from Friday, spectators aged 7-21 had the opportunity to trial for the Burnley FC academy until Sunday in the trial area.
