It was an odd day for USMNT center-back John Brooks in Wolfsburg's 5-3 win over Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga. The American international scored his first league goal since April 22, 2019 to put Wolfsburg up 2-1 in the 25th minute, but he then conceded an own goal to bring Bremen level at 3-3 shortly after halftime. Wout Weghorst's double earned Wolfsburg the three points over a Bremen side playing without USMNT striker Josh Sargent.
