USMNT striker Josh Sargent and Werder Bremen are now winless in seven matches after a 2-1 home defeat to Stuttgart and American manager Pellegrino Matarazzo. Stuttgart took the lead in the first half when Wataru Endo was brought down in the box by Manchester United loanee Tahith Chong, giving Silas Wamangituka the opportunity to score from the penalty spot. Wamangituka doubled the visitors’ lead in stoppage time by capitalizing on an errant back pass, though his taunting of the Bremen defense before scoring led to him being yellow-carded and substituted off.
