Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling have been instrumental in Manchester City’s success in recent years under Pep Guardiola and with both of their contracts up in 2023, surely they’re entitled to a pay rise? Not so fast says ESPN FC’s Gab Marcotti. Speaking on the Gab and Juls show, Marcotti believes that because City have become such a “team” under Guardiola as they head towards a potential historic quadruple, that they would be able to survive without De Bruyne and Sterling and that the club’s hierarchy is in a “perfect position” to negotiate.
