“That rush, and the sights and the sounds and the smells… I want everyone to experience that” - Jonathan Green, GayGooners
Members of GayGooners have been sharing their stories with us ahead of today's game, with messages that resonate with all Arsenal fans, whether you're a member of the LGBT+ community or not.
We're committed to help make Emirates Stadium a welcoming environment for everyone who wants to support the team. Working alongside GayGooners, we are inviting members of the LGBT+ Arsenal community who have never attended a game before to watch the game, in a safe space within the stadium.
We know this won't solve the issue overnight. As part of an ongoing commitment, we're working to make the whole of Emirates Stadium a safe and welcoming space for all, talking with local businesses and the community to extend this beyond our doors and turnstiles.
If you're attending the game today, you’ll see a message from GayGooners and Arsenal on the big screens. This helps to explain why discriminatory chanting is not acceptable. You’ll also see Progress Pride flags flying proudly at the match and messages in today’s programme.
Arsenal is for everyone ✊
