In partnership with Commhoist, Wigan Athletic Community Trust, invited eight Primary Schools to present ideas to improve their School's environmental sustainability to a panel of judges at the DW Stadium.
All of the Schools invited also take part in the Premier League Primary Stars project, where the Community Trust provide high quality PE sessions alongside teacher CPD to help support PE delivery in the Schools.
Having worked with their teachers and Community Trust School staff in School prior to the event, students from St. Ambrose Barlow Catholic Primary School, Bedford Hall Methodist Primary School, St Catherine of Siena Catholic Primary School, St. Oswald's Catholic Primary School, St Jude's Catholic Primary School, Orrell Holgate Academy, Wigan St. Andrew's CE Primary School and St. Michael's CE Primary School, all presented excellent ideas to the judges.
The judging panel was composed of Wigan Athletic Community Trust's Primary Schools Manager Greg Hardman, Community Trust Trustee Cathy Robinson and Latics' Head of Safeguarding Genna Banks.
Bedford Hall Methodist Primary School, St. Oswald's Catholic Primary School, St Jude's Catholic Primary School and St. Michael's CE Primary School all progressed to the final, which will be held at a later date at the DW Stadium.
