Real Madrid crash out of the Spanish Supercopa at the hands of Athletic Bilbao, sending the Basque giants onto the final in a match against Real Madrid. All blame can be cast on Lucas Vazquez for Real Madrid conceding two goals; his errant pass led to Raúl Garcia’s first and the penalty he committed on Íñigo Martínez led to Raúl Garcia getting his brace. Karim Benzema got one back in the second half after a lengthy intervention from VAR, but it wasn’t enough to dig themselves out of the hole they created in the first 45.
