Atlanta United is back on the road this weekend when it travels to Queens, New York to take on New York City FC at Citi Field. Coming off a dominating performance at home against Chicago Fire FC, the 5-Stripes are looking to carry that momentum on the road. With nine points through the first five matches, Atlanta sits just three points behind the Eastern Conference lead. NYCFC has only managed four points through its first six matches this year and is in 14th position in the table coming into Saturday night's matchup. New York's only win this season has come at home, at the other baseball park Yankee Stadium. Saturday marks the first of four matches in April for Atlanta.
Atlanta United joined Major League Soccer in 2017 and won the 2018 MLS Cup in just its second season, the earliest an expansion team has won the title since 1998. The club has set multiple league records including season tickets sales (36,000-plus), single-season average (53,002) and total home attendance (901,033). Owned by Arthur M. Blank, Atlanta United plays its home matches at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. For more information about Atlanta United, including how to purchase season tickets, visit: www.atlutd.com.
