Major League Soccer’s top goal scorer Diego Rossi moves his season to 13 and Los Angeles City FC move up to fourth in the Western Conference with a 2-1 over the Houston Dynamo. Rossi opened the scoring with a tap in in the first 10 minutes of the game, before Eddie Segura doubled LAFC’s lead. Houston got a chance to score from the penalty spot after Eddie Segura handled the ball in the box, but goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer proved too good for Mauro Manotas’ attempt. Ariel Lassiter put the visitors back within one goal shortly after the start of the second half and Rossi’s second goal was chalked off by VAR to keep it that way. Matías Vera put Houston at a disadvantage by picking up his second yellow card and the Dynamo’s luck worsened when referee Ramy Touchan overturned their late penalty. Carlos Vela came on in the second half and proved dangerous for LAFC, but couldn’t convert his handful of chances.
