The Marta Award is an annual FIFA award given to the best goal scored in women's football. The award is the female equivalent to the FIFA Puskas Award and was named after Brazilian soccer legend Marta.
This is the first year of the Marta award. In spectacular Marta fashion, the Brazilian star managed to score a goal worthy of nomination in the opening year for the award that is named after herself.
