Atlanta United earned another home win on Sunday after defeating Philadelphia Union 2-0. Thiago Almada scored early off the rebound of his own free kick, then assisted defender Brooks Lennon in the 79th minute to seal the game. On the other side, CF Montréal fell 1-0 to New York City FC at home. Prior to NYCFC's goal, Montréal had not conceded a goal at home in MLS play in 618 consecutive minutes.
Atlanta United joined Major League Soccer in 2017 and won the 2018 MLS Cup in just its second season, the earliest an expansion team has won the title since 1998.
